Tips: If you’re looking to buy a property, then it’s important that you understand your floor plan. Purchasing a property without understanding the layout of the interior could be costly and time-consuming. If you are buying an condo or apartment in Singapore, for example, there is no one-size-fits all approach to reading floor plans. Instead, I’ll give you some general guidelines on how to read them – and what some common mistakes are when interpreting them.
1. Read the plan from left to right
2. Find the key for symbols and abbreviations on the bottom of each page
3. Look at any notes or comments that are written in pencil on your floor plan
4. Turn to the back of your floor plan where you will find a list of all rooms with their dimensions, along with other information about your home such as square footage and size.
